Mangalore : Journalists in city handed over a memorandum to the deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim urging to take action against the person for threatening Kannada news channel reporter on April 16, Wednesday.
Reportedly, the Reporter of the channel had received a threatening call, after his c flashed a news regarding Nalin Kumar Kateel’s alleged phone calls to a woman. Although BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel has not reacted to this matter, the reporter received threat call from anonymous persons.
It is learnt that channel reporter Sukesh Kumar had flashed the news from the released press note by Independent candidate Sudatta Jain on April 15, Tuesday, stating that Nalin Kumar had made 3,742 phone calls to a woman between August 1, 2011 and July 2012, and between November 2012 and October 2013, which has been recorder and produced as proof in form of CD.
Jain also said that he had submitted an appeal in this regard to the district election officers and the police department to investigate the phone calls.
Later after the news was flashed, Kumar started getting threats on phone and social media like Facebook and WhatsApp.
In this regard, Sukesh Kumar has filed a written complaint with the police. A copy of the memorandum was also submitted to the DCP.
