Mangalore : Around 12 discontented Congress activists along with M. G. Hegde  resigned from the Congress party and joined the JD(S) on March 24, Thursday.
JD (S) leader H. D. Kumaraswamy welcomed them as the members and said that the party requires faithful and honest activists like them. He also said that JD(S) welcomes anybody who wishes to join the party, he added.
Mr. Hegde said that he is happy to start a completely new phase in his political career Congress has no future because it is led by the wrong people, he added.
Abdul Majeed Sooralpady, M. S. Siddiq, Shashiraj Shetty, Oswald D’ Cunha, S. Gurappa Poojary, M. Qasim, Siraj Arkula, K. S. Ahmed Bawa Thumbey, Nazeer Arkula, K. S. Latheef Thumbey, Hareesh Bhandary Gunjimutt, G. K. Hariprasad, and Rajesh Shetty Konaje also joined the JD(S) with M. G. Hegde.
