Mangaluru: The police detained two persons connection to a student who was allegedly assaulted by Five people at Ullal on Monday.

The police managed to arrest Thousif and Nizamuddin while Waqar managed to escape from the spot.

It is said that two students from a local college had gone to Someshwara beach. It is learnt that the boy was from Ranchi while the girl was from Mangaluru and belonged to another community.

Sources say that as they were returning to Mangaluru by bus, three miscreants dragged the student out at Ullal junction and assaulted.

A case has been registered at Ullal police station.
