Mangaluru : Two security guards were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting Youth Congress activist Tejaswiraj in the vehicle parking area at a mall here on Monday.

The Mangaluru North police gave the names of accused as Raghunath (21) from Odisha and Dilip Kumar (26) from Arunachal Pradesh.

The police said that there was an altercation between the accused and Tejaswiraj when the latter had gone there to park his vehicle.

The two accused persons reportedly hit Tejaswiraj with their walkie-talkie handsets.

Tejaswiraj filed a complaint after getting treatment in a private hospital for injuries on his head.

Raghunath and Dilip Kumar were produced before the jurisdictional magistrate, who remanded them in judicial custody, the police added.
