Kasargod: Two brothers hailing from Kumble met a watery grave in a river near Bellary Toranakallu on September 29, Saturday.

The mishap took place when the two brothers had been to the river for a dip along with three other relatives, but were washed away by the strong currents.

The deceased are Anup Raj (26) and Anish Raj (23). The two along with their family members had been to Bellary on Thursday.

Of the two Anup worked abroad. Reports say the attempts made by others to rescue them from drowning went in vain.
