Mangalore : Thonse Narayan Poojary, senior writer and advocate released Bola Chittaranjan Das Shetty’s compact disc on ‘Tulu Paddanna’ at a function organized by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy at the academcy chavadi here on July 6, Friday.
Two Tulu Paddanna, titled ‘Sri Madhwa Prana Dever’ and ‘Amar Beerer Mamanni’ were released on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that today the tulu culture is disappearing and in this situation Kumble Sundar Rao must teach them the value of culture from the beginning. On other hand Bola’s Cd on Paddanna will preach the story of tulunad and the history to the youths.
He also said that Bola has given tamarind seed in the hands of tulunad people and the people must now listen to it and make it gold in their house.
Crictic Padmanabha Rai said that through this paddanna, people will also know about the greatness of Koti- Chennayya’s maternal uncle for first time and his contribution to tulunad.
He also said that the language and words used in the Paddanna are good and simple, which is understood by the people. All the small matters related to their life have been explained with details, he said.
Author Bola Chittaranjan Das Shetty said that he has sang the paddanna in all the types, according to the stories he has heard about them. There was many stories said by different people on Koti Chennaya and he had given detail of every story, which is necessary to tell to the people.
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Umanath Kotian, presided over the event. M Sarvottham Anchan, former president of Taluk Tulu Sahitya Parishath participated as the chief guest.
Crictic Ullas R Shetty and Music organisor M B Gururaj were present on the occasion.
