Mangalore : Rohini K, District Information Officer inaugurated two-day national level media fest ‘Media Manthan 2013’ with the theme ‘Celebrating 100 Years of Indian Cinema’ at the Eric Mathias Hall of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) on January 21, Monday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Rohini said that this is the wonderful opportunity for the students to involve themselves in the special moments of their college life.
Presiding over the function, College Principal Fr Swebert D’Silva said that media has to play a major role in the society to fight for justice.
Today most of the cinema depicts illusory world instead of reality, but if the directors make an attempt to show the reality in his cinema, then it is rejected by the audience, he said.
Bollywood Director Sandeep Malani and renowned Tulu playwright Vijaykumar Kodialbail were felicitated on the occasion.
College vice Principal Fr Francis Almeida, Registrar Narahari and others were present.
The contests like 8×10 Tasveer (Photography Contest), Viraam (Ad Making), Makhdi Ki Jaal (Web Designing), Peepli Live (Video Bulletin) Bol Bachchan (RJ Hunt), Taare Zameen Par (Quiz), Pehchaan Kaun (Mock Press), Kahaani (Trailer Making), Golmaal (Movie Spoof)and Chitragupt (Film Review) will be conducted for the students.
