Mangalore : Syad Younis Rana Rajaputh of Rajputh Dispensary Hamilton Complex and Nusrat Chowhan of Chowhan Dispensary Near University college Mangalore were arrested by a team of doctors coming under Karnataka Ayurvedic & Unani Practioner’s Board Bangalore with the City Police help in a raid conducted on Saturday Jan. 18, 2014 Morning, at their Dispensaries where they were carrying on medical practice without proper registration or qualification since a long time.

They are being produced before the First class Magistrate’s Court in Mangalore and will remanded to judicial custody for a limited period.

The raids were conducted under the guidance of Dr. Satyamoorty Bhat president of the Medical Board, and 7 other members in the team. The Medical team took Dr. Chowhan to the Bunder North police station whereas Dr. Rajputh was taken to Pandeshwar Police station to write up their First Information Reports (FIR), after which they will be produced in a court of law for a judicial custody today.

Both the arrested persons had taken fake Medical certificates from Kolkata over the years to practice their nefarious Medical activities. The local people suspected them of being fake doctors and reported the matter in a complained against them to the Board in Mangalore at Hat Hill, about a week ago. The action followed almost immediately leading to the raids on their Dispensaries, and certain Medicines were sized from them during the raids.

Dr.BS Chandru is stated to have assisted both the fake doctors, in making out their Medical certificates from Kolkotta.

Dr. Thimmappa Shetttigar ( Registrar), Dr. Sadashiva (District Auyush officer), Dr. Muralidhar, Dr. Devadas Putran and Dr. Ashfaq as members of the team that conducted the raids.
