Bengaluru ; Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka provided food kits to various communities on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “We have been providing food kits for the last two months and will continue to do so for another fortnight. We have provided kits to all the communities and sectors so that all the affected people are reached out. We have learnt a lot of lessons during Covid second wave and the most important lesson is that we are all part of the family and need to stand with each other at this hour of the crisis. We have seen emotional moments where a few refused to take the bodies of their parents who had died of Covid. Many had refused to claim ashes and we had to immerse those ashes in Cauvery River. Now, experts are warning of a third wave but we are already gearing up to tackle it. Firstly, we need to vaccinate the eligible beneficiaries by December. Secondly, as experts have warned, we have already set up two paediatric hospitals; one near a petrol pump and the other near Hosakerehalli. We will try to provide free treatment to the affected. At this juncture, I want to tell you that no one needs to be scared and I will promise to stand by each of you.”
Well-known actress and Chairperson of Karnataka Forest Development Board, Ms Tara said, “I am happy to know that Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka is standing with his people at this hour of crisis and doing a yeoman service by providing food kits to people who have been affected by Covid. He is like my elder brother and I am proud of his service to the poor.”
