Mangalore : In a two separate accident, one of the bike riders was killed on the spot and another rider caused severe injuries on NH 48 roads on December 3, Friday.
In the first accident, a resident of Navajyoti Nagar, Valachil known as Francis (45) was killed when his Hero Honda (KA19 EA7071), was rammed into the wheel of a Ford Icon (KA21 M7845), which was moving from BC Road to Mangalore.

This accident took place near Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management at Adyar around 4:00pm, when the Francis was on his way to Mangalore after filling petrol from a nearby petrol bunk.
According to sources, the body was seen lying on the spot for one hour. The first ambulance (108), which was called to spot, refused to take the victim since he breathed his last. Later, the body was sent to Wenlock Hospital for post mortem through another ambulance.
Whereas, the bike rider of the second accident was severely injured as he was hit by a Maruti 800 near Padil. Later, he was rushed to a private hospital in the city for treatment. A case has been registered at Kankanady police station in this regard.
