Bantwal : Two unidentified miscreants stabbed Durgaparameshwari Jyothishalaya astrologer in broad daylight on Saturday March 20.

The incident took place at Durgaparameshwari Jyothishalaya, Padma complex, B C Road in the afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Pandit Laxmikanth Bhat.

It is said, The accused closed the door of the astrologer’s office before fleeing.

He was reportedly stabbed due to personal reasons. Bhat, who lost his consciousness after the attack, woke up after sometime and came out from the room.

Those who were in the adjacent room saw him severely injured and rushed him to Bantwal government hospital. He was later shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment.

Bantwal town police visited the spot.
