Mangaluru : A robbery-accused assaulted two under trial inmates in the premises of the Mangaluru jail on Sunday morning.

The sources said, fight erupted during the breakfast. The injured were rushed to the district Wenlock Hospital.

A robbery-accused undertrial identified as Sameer allegedly assaulted the inmates named Ansar and Zainuddin using kitchen utensils.

City police commissioner Shashi Kumar and officials visited the prison and further investigation is on.
