Belthangady: The Belthangady police station got a call from Ujire where a two wheeler cyclist, Shabeer (22), a driver in a motor driving school in Belthangady was traveling at 2 am in the night of New Year’s day back home after dropping a friend to his house, was knocked down by a speeding Lorry near Ujire.

The police rush to the spot only to find the cyclist involved in the accident in a chilly dark night was dead. The Lorry was missing from the site and probably the driver had fled in the darkness at that early hour on Wednesday, 1st January 2014.

The Belthangady police took Shabeer to the hospital where he was brought dead, and are now searching frantically for the culprit who caused the death of the young man.
