Bhatkal: Raghavendra (35) and Subramanya (25) were travelling on a bike in a holyday mood to visit temples in Bhatkal and Gangolli, when around 4.30 pm a speeding Tipper Lorry got them in a head-on collision at near Belke National Highway 66 in Bhatkal.
The 2 bachelors fell on the road bleeding, while the tipper Lorry driver fled with his vehicle on the highway, with the result after half an-hour some passes by saw the bike and the 2 fallen bodies, rush to pick them up and took to Bhatkal government hospital for post-mortem, as they were already dead by the time some people saw them lying on highway 66.
The Bhatkal police on being informed about the road accident came on the scene registered a case for rash driving and are looking out for the culprit, who fled to Karkala.
The lorry was from Gangolli to Karkala via Bhatkal.
