Mangaluru: Opposing the privatisation of Mangaluru International airport, District-in-charge minister U T Khader on Friday, November 30 demanded the Centre to review its decision.
Addressing media persons at Circuit House here Khader said that ever since the news of privatisation of the airport came out in the media, MIA employees are concerned about their job security. Taking a jibe at the Ache Din slogan of PM Modi, Khader said that people directly and indirectly employed at the airport are worried about a bleak future.
Further, he said that the government has not yet clarified the rationale behind the privatisation or the need for it. “The State government has spent a lot of money on land acquisition but the centre has now suddenly come up with this decision. Opinions of people must be taken before going ahead with the privatisation,” said Khader.
