Mangalore : State Health Minister U T Khader met Central Health Minister Dr Harshavardhan at New Delhi to discuss of making rural service mandatory for medical students passing out from the colleges.
He said that the meeting was held with the aim of meeting the requirement for doctors in rural areas. Since, the proposal could not be implemented effectively till date due to other reason.
Khader submitted memorandum to Harshavardhan in New Delhi on Wednesday, in this regard and urged the Centre to implement the rules mandatory for fresh medical graduates.
Minister Khader said that Central Minister has responded positively to the demand put forth by the department.
