Udupi: The temple town of Udupi is wearing a festive look and is celebrating Sri Krishna Janmashtami in Saturday while the famous Vittlapindi Utsav will be held on September 9.

Various programmes have been organized to celebrate the event. Little Krishna contests are an added attraction. The Sri Krishna Mutt is wearing a new look with floral decoration.

On account of Vittla Pindi a Huli Vesha competition has been arranged, apart from fancy dress and folk dance competitions. Garlands made of currency notes are also kept ready to be offered to Huli Veshadharis and other contestant s.
