Udupi: District unit of BJP organised a protest near Clock Tower on June 19, Wednesday opposing hike in prices of essential commodities and fuel by the Centre as well as increase in KSRTC fares by the State Government.

The protest was led by former Udupi ,. Bhat who spoke on the occasion said the defective economic policies of the Central government has hit hard the people. He alleged that the government had failed to check inflation.

He was also critical of Karnataka Government decision to increase KSRTC bus fares and urged to revoke the hike

 Several leaders including Udaykumar Shetty, Udupi district BJP President, Lalaji Mendon, former MLA,  ZP Chief Upendra Nayak, Githanjali Suvarna, Katapadi Shanker Poojari, Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, Saleem Ambagilu and others took part in protest.
