Udupi : Two women were killed and 13 others were injured in a collision between two buses at Karje village coming under Brahmavar police station limits on Friday.

The police said a bus carrying cashew factory workers was going from Brahmavara to Hebri collided with an aoncoming private bus.

Two women in the cashew factory bus were severely injured and taken to hospitals, where the doctors pronounced them dead.

They had been identified as Durgavva (28) and Sharavva, about 35 years old, from Bagalkot district.

As many as 13 others were injured and they were shifted to Mahesh Hospital in Brahmavar and Kasturba Hospital in Manipal.

A case had been registered at the Brahmavar police station.
