Udupi : Member of Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) Sadashiva Kotian(45) passed away at a private hospital in Mangaluru on Tuesday morning.

He was admitted for malaria fever last week. He was a resident of Kodankur and is survived by his wife.

An agriculturist and an entrepreneur by profession, Sadashiva was an active member of several associations. During his college days, Sadashiva served as the president of the National Students’ Union of India in Milagres College Kallianpur.

He then became the president of Udupi Kisan block and also rendered service as an active secretary of Udupi block Congress.

It may be recalled that Sadashiva raised the issue on dredging of the Nittur-Kalasanka trench in the CMC general body meeting held on April 28.

He was nominated as a Member of Udupi CMC in September last year.
