Udupi : As the BJP candidate Sunil Kumar files nominations in the DC Dr. M. T. Reju’s office on Feb 25 Saturday, the media were restricted to cover the process, which made them furious.

The DC said that he had no idea that media persons were allowed to cover the process of candidates filing nominations and he followed the rule as stated in the handbook for returning officers, in which it was stated that overcrowding is to be avoided.

He said that he had asked one or two reporters to take photos and videos, but they had refused since it would lead to competition. He said that he has written to the Election Commission about this and is waiting for a response.

Later speaking to the media, Sunil Kumar, a BJP candidate for the Udupi – Chikmagalur by pollssaid that he has decided to submit his nomination on Saturday which is considered as auspicious day for him and it will hope to bring success to the party.
