Udupi: Veteran writer Udyavara Madhavacharya inaugurated the Udupi District Chutuku Sahitya Parishat at a function held on November 11, Sunday under the joint auspices of Paryaya Sode Vadiraja Mutt and Central Chutuku Sahitya Parishat of Mysore. The first district level limericks poets meet was also arranged on the occasion.

Dr MGR Urs, Principal Convenor of the Central Chutuku Sahitya Parishat presided over the function.  Padigaru Srinivas Tantri, Diwan of Paryaya Mutt, K Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi MLA., Bharathi Chandrashekhar, TMC Vice President, Pramod Madhwaraj, entrepreneur, Dr Madhavi Bhandari, Principal of Poorna Prajna Evening College and others wee pre sent on the occasion.

District minister Kota Srinivas Poojari who released a book of selected poems of Jinadutta Desai. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the government was trying its level best to protect Kannada culture, literature and tradition.

Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat released “Gubbiya Kalarava,” Tara Acharya, Working President of Udupi District Chutuku Sahitya Parishat and others were present on the occasion.
