Karkala : The District Court of Udupi has sentenced one Veerendra Poojari (32) of Attur to life imprisonment  in a murder case. The court has also slapped a penalty of Rs 5000 on him.

Poojari had  killed one Sandeep Kulal (30) at Nitte Adyarpadavu on April 23,2012 following a quarrel with the former over the issue of Rs 20,000 which he had borrowed from  Sandeep’s brother Santosh. The quarrel took place at a wedding function  following which Veerendra Poojari arrived with a weapon from home and killed Sandeep near the bus stand.
