Mangalore: Udupi seer in Mangalore and walking for communal harmony? Yes, Pejawar Math senior Pontiff, the frail looking swami Vishvesha Tirtha on Wednesday launched a new “Harmony Yatra” from Kanwateertha near Talapady (border) to preserve Hindu unity and to create awareness in society about Hinduism.
Ullal MLA, U.T. Khader, offered a Tulasi garland at Talapady, after the walk started at 8.30 am, as a taken of welcoming the seer’s mission. The seer visited a couple of Dalit houses on way. Information on Hindu rituals was distributed among people for better understanding of ancient rites. He wanted common Hindu people to realize values of Indian-ness.
Prof. M. B. Puranik, Convenor of the walk and local KSP chief Pradeep Kalkura were present.
The Samarasya Yatra (Journey of even mindedness) will enter Mangalore only on Friday morning (Oct.8)
