Kaup : The district police on Monday, August 18 arrested a person in connection with a theft at Katapady, Manipura and Udayavar region from many months.

The arrested is identified as Ganesh Poojary (33), a resident of Ankudru in Udyavar. The police also seized mangalasutra, two gold bangles, two gold chains, gold ring, ear rings, LG washing machine, mixer, torch, Honda Activa and a cycle worth Rs 3.10 lakh from his possession.

During the police interrogation, accused said that he had decamped gold jewellery from the house Lilly Andrade at Udyavar in June, while washing machine from the house of Sadananda Kotian of Bolje.

The thief was arrested by a team led by SP P Rajendra Prasad including ASP Santosh Kumar, ASP Annamalai, Kaup Circle Inspector Sunil Y Nayak ASI Purushottam and Station Inspector Manjappa along with constables Sridhar, Suresh K, Ravi Kumar, Sudhakar, Vishwajith, Dharmappa K.N, Rajkumar Baindoor, Balakrishna Poojary, Shashidhar, Krishna Poojary, Dayananda Prabhu, Raghavendra, Jagadish and Ananda,
