Udupi : The first death anniversary of former minister Dr VS Acharya was observed at the Town Hall here on February 14, Thursday.

Offering his tribute to the late leader, district minister Kota Srinivas Poojari said  the greatest tribute which can be paid to late Acharya was by winning the Udupi CMC elections.

He recalled how Acharya used to always telephone senior leader KL Advani and share his happiness  whenever BJP won the CMC polls. He exhorted party men to follow the ideals of the late leader, who he said had a great vision and led a simple life.

 M  Somashekhar  Bhat, Gujjadi Prabhaker Nayak, former CMC chairmen, ZP Chief Upendra Nayak, Coastal Development Authority Chief Tingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, Fisheries Federation Chief Yashpal Suvarna, TP Chief Gowri Poojarti, outgoing CMC Chief Kiran Kumar and others were present.
