Udupi :  The Udupi District Taximen’s Association organized its 41st annual meeting at Laxmi auditorium in the town on August 7, Tuesday. Monappa Bhandari, President of Dakshina Kannada Taximen’s Association inaugurated the programme.

K Raghupathi Bhat, MLA who is also the President of the Association, presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhat exhorted drivers to make the best use of insurance and pension schemes. He also said life time tax has been excluded for tourist vehicles worth below Rs 15 lakhs.

GR Shanmugappa, President of Karnataka State Lorry Owners association, KP Shenoy and KG Ravindra were the chief guests.
