Udupi: A senior citizen, Chandru Mestri (70) died after he was hit by Udupi Zilla Panchayat President’s vehicle at Kaup on Wednesday. The incident occurred when the president Dinakar Babu was on his way to participate at a function in nearby school. Unexpectedly, the car hit the aged man when he was trying to cross the road near Kaup Town Mumcipal office.

ZP president immediately admitted the injured to a nearby hospital, however, the doctors declared him as brought dead. Kaup police have registered a case on the incident.
