Udupi: A Yuvajanotsava scheduled on November 12, with a budget running into several lakhs of rupees, by sports and District youth services Department, did not provide any post to members of the Udupi District. Youth Assn., (UDYA) on the organising Committee, giving vent to disbelief, frustration, and anger in the ranks of UDYA on Wednesday, forcing them to hold a protest rally in front of local DC’s office for the insult.

Its chief Monohar Kunder clarified that UDYA members had won several prizes and trophies earlier, and should have been on the organizing committee. He accused S. Vittal Shetty, event convenor and officer of Dt. youth Services, of misusing his powers only to sideline youths, while including teachers and some educational societies as members.
Kunder charged Shetty of bias towards youths in a Yuvajanotsava(youth Fair).
Even the DC(Dr. Reju) did not take the matter seriously.

Both gave a false report to an enquiry Committee that arrived from Bangalore, to investigate. Office-bearers of UDYA were among the protestors in the rally against DC, at he DCO.
