Mangalore : Bank employees and officers will go on a two –day strike on February 20 and 21 in support of their several demands. The strike would be observed under the aegis of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).

The main demands include end to anti-worker labour reforms, banking reforms, steps to discourage outsourcing,  settlement of pending issues  like appointment of staff on compassionate grounds.

 Other demands of the central trade unions include measures to contain price rise,  more employment generation and strict enforcement of labour laws.

This was informed to reporters by B Madhava, Convenor of the United Forum of Bank Unions. He also stated that nearly 25000 employees are likely to take part in the strike which is also observed to demand  fulfillment of demands of the central trade unions.
