Mangalore :   English has become an inter-disciplinary language, said  Dr Rajeshwari Sunder Rajan,  Professor of English, New York University.

She was speaking after inaugurating a UGC sponsored national level workshop on ‘English for Specific Purposes’ organised by the English Department of St Agnes College and Association of English Teachers of Mangalore University at St Agnes College Auditorium on September 19, Thursday.

English literature  in the nation originated during the British regime and  the language has now become a global communication tool.

Sr Prem D’Souza, Principal, St Agnes  College,  Dr Geralyn Pinto, Head of the Department of English of St Agnes Post Graduate College and others were present.
