Udupi : A Ukrainian football player Vitaliy Hryhorovych Reva tied the knot to Elina Reva as per Hindu tradition at Neelavara Goshala on January 7, Wednesday.

The couple who were married ten years ago according to the Christian ritual and now they re married according to the Hindu ritual.

The couple came to India along with their seven-year-old daughter Vacilissa for their ayurvedic treatment. Dr Tanmay Goswami of Punarnava Ayurveda Center accompanied the couple in all the rituals and RK Zingan, Ukraine Congress leader who resides in Delhi along with his wife Vijayalakshmi helped in conduct of the marriage rituals as parents of the groom.

The marriage was witnessed by the family and friends of Reva couple along with few locals.

The groom was dressed in a dhoti, Mysore ‘peta’ and ‘basinga’, the bride was draped in a silk sari. The groom tied the ‘mangalasutra’ and performed ‘sapthapadi’ in front of the ‘agni kunda’.

Manjunath, a priest at the temple, performed the rituals.
