Mangalore : City police commissioner R Hitendra has ordered for the transfer of Ullal police inspector Dharmendra, and police sub-inspectors Ramesh Hanapur and Satish Kumar of Ullal Police station to the office of the commissionerate, for failing to maintain law and order in Ullal area from several weeks.

In their place, commissioner has posted Rajendra from Suratkal crime branch and Panambur police sub-inspector Bharati to Ullal Police Station.

State Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khadar said that the untoward incident taking place in Ullal and surrounding areas since few days by the unidentified people have create a tensed situation in the area. Hence those who will provide information about the culprits involved with these incidents will be rewarded whereas the informers name will be kept confidential.

He also urged the police officials to hold meetings with local leaders and representatives to establish harmony in the region.
