Mangalore: The Mangalore sub-jail is once again in the news. An under trial lodged in the district sub-jail suffered injuries in his head when he was attacked by a gang of under trials in the wee hours of May 8, Tuesday. The injured under trial Manzar who was admitted to the hospital soon after the incident, was later discharged.

Reports said a quarrel between Manzar and another group of under trials eventually led to the latter attacking the former with a steel vessel.

The accused have been identified as Somanath alias Somu, Shivaraj, Vishwanath Poojari and Praveen Kulal. Barke police are investigating the case.
