Mangalore: An accomplice of underworld fugitive (Madoor Isubu) was captured by Bajpe IP Dinakar Shetty and his police team at Kavoor Shantinagar in city on Friday, September.23. He was naed Mohammed Iqbal (30), who used to provide telephone numbers of leading businessmen to Isubu o carry on his intimidation and threats even from the jail.
Isubu was in Bellary jail from months but now has been shifted to DK district jail since a week to face court hearings, even under judicial custody and allowed to make phone calls outside.
Ahmed Shakir, a local businessman, had received 3 calls in August from Isubu demanding 3 crores of rupees as protection money (Kappa). Shakir lodged a police complaint after he was threatened of dire consequences Isubu over phone. This has raised many high eye-brows. Iqbal was the mediating person and he was the prime accused in Candle Santhu murder case. Iqbal produced in a court and sent to judicial custody till October.14.
