Mangalore : Heavy rains lashed several parts of coastal Karnataka accompanied with lightning and thunder on April 27, Sunday and in wee hours of Monday.
The unexpected rainfalls in many parts of the state from a couple of days have brought some relief to the people from the scorching heat.
Although the city did not witness any untoward incident due to lightening, the house belonging to one Damodar Acharya in Neralakatte in Bantwal taluk was collapsed injured one person.
Apart from it, two students were killed as lightning struck in Kasargod district one student in Vitla town, injuring some and damaging few houses in that region.
The house belonging to Sreekanth, a lawyer of Surlu locality was damaged after a coconut tree fell over the building due to strong winds, while a coconut tree which rolled over a moving car at Kottakanni locality has also caused severe injuries to two occupants of the vehicle.
