Mangaluru : BJP-led Union government increased excise duty on fuel as many as 12 times, a total worth Rs 10 lakh crore in the last four years in looted in petroleum scam said former union minister Pradeep Jain.

Speaking the press meet at District Congress Office on April 28, Saturday, he said that the prices of crude oil have come down considerably. But the Union government has increased the excise duty on petroleum products. What happened to the money, running into thousands of crores, generated from excise duty on petroleum products” the Congress leaders questioned.

Deepa Dasmunshi mentioned how BJP has issued tickets to seven people from the Reddy brothers camp who were involved in multi-crore illegal mining scam. “It (BJP) has lost the moral right to level graft charges against the Congress,” she said.
