Bangalore: The Union Pubic Service Commission (IAS etc) held exams. in 2011 and results have been published on Friday, May4, 2012.
As many as 912 candidates have passed these exams in IAS, IPS, Forest S, and for A & B cadres of Union Service.
There are over 50 candidates from Karnataka who are successful in these final exams held in Oct-November 2011. Interviews were held for prospective officers in March-April 2012.
Those selected from this state have been trained all over India in various coaching schemes. The topmost candidate with 91st rank is S. Suhas IGP Gopal B. Hosur’s son Shreyas secured 532nd rank.
BA graduates are fewer this time, as compared to Engineering, Medicine, and science graduates who have succeeded in larger numbers.
Effort, determination to succeed, and a wide range of knowledge on several matters, helps to pass such high level exams, coaches say.
Most of the state officers have middle-class or poor family backgrounds.
