Mangaluru: A district and additional sessions court here granted bail to Mohammed Niyaz (20) who allegedly attacked and tried to murder Urwa police station ASI Aithappa (55) during early hours of April 5, 2017 near Ladyhill circle when he was on his duty.

The accused along with another youth arrived on a two wheeler and reportedly attacked the ASI using a steel rod. ASI was survived with serious injuries and undergone month long treatment in a hospital here in the city.
