Mangaluru :The most awaited cultural extravaganza of Alva’s Education Foundation, “Alva’s Virasat” will enthral the cultural lovers from January 8th to January 11th 2015. The for this is taking place at Alva’s Palace Ground at Vidyagiri. Amidst the greeneries, this event is going to attract thousands of people with variety of cultural programme and more than 20,000 seating arrangements.
Speaking to the reporters here on Monday Mr. Alva said, the first day of Alva’s Virasat 2015 will begin at 5.15 pm with traditional procession welcoming the guests of honour to the dais. The inauguration of the programme will be done by Dr Veerendra Hegde of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara kshethra.
Dr Vinay Hegde, educationist and President of Nitte Education Trust, will be presiding. The four ministers, MPs,DC,MLC of Dakshina Kannada, Ex-Minister Mr. Amarnath Shetty, Mr. V N Krishna Kumar, CEO, Canara Bank, Mr. C JayaramBhat, CEO, Karnatka Bank, Mr. M N Rajendra Kumar , President, SCDCC Bank and Mr. Suresh Bhandary, Mumbai will also be present.
Padmabhushan Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, who mesmerised the audience with his talent in playing Sarod in the age of 6, later achieved in the field and also recognised as one of the greatest players is being awarded with Alva’s Virasat award, he said.
Classical music and dance, folk songs and dance will be performed by artists from world-wide. Rajasthan’s classical and folk cultural team ‘Desert Storm’, Shri Rama Natak Nikethan, special dance performance by 25 artists of Andhra Pradesh, Punjabi dance, Gujarathi Dance, String struck musical instruments fusion, Shivamani and team’s ‘Mahaleela’, Mysore Manjunath and team’s ‘Naadaloka’ will attract the audience.
Special programmes by Shivamani and team, musical night by visually impaired and special performance by physically challenged.
On January 9th from 8.30 pm, the audience will be spellbound by the performance of Kalaimamani, Shivamani and his team.
On 10th January, the music lovers will be feasted with the performance ‘Ankhiyon ke zaaronkho se’ which will be performed by 30 visually challenged of Mumbai and the dance lovers will be fascinated by the performance ‘Miracles on wheels’ which will be presented by of physically challenged.
On all the four days, Punjab’s Army Band will be giving a special programme. To enhance the beauty of the event and sooth the eyes of the audience there will be fountains and flower show.
