Mangalore : UT Khader, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare visited Ladygoschen Hospital on July 27, Saturday. Khader inspected the various wards of the hospital and also the ongoing works on the new block.
He even addressed a review meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Khader said the state government was giving top most priority to the health sector. He said the mandatory rural service to new medical graduates would go a long way in solving the shortage of doctors in rural area. Khader also stated that a sum of Rs 10 crores has been sanctioned by the Union government for the new block of Lady Goschen Hospital,. The block will have modern Neo Intensive care unit. He said the government would take early steps to solve the staff shortage problem in Government Wenlock nad Lady Goschen Hospitals. He informed that 336 doctors, 1400 C group employees and 3000 D group staff would be appointed.
Others present on the occasion were Dr Shivakumar, District Health Officer, Dr Shakuntala, Medical Superintendent of Lady Goschen Hospital and Dr MV Prabhu, Dean of KMC.
