Bangalore: He went to see Justice N.Santosh Hegde at Bangalore and Delhi recently, for some personal work, and not to persuade him to drop CM’s name from his final report on illegal mining wealth, clarified V.Dhananjaya Kumar, a former Union minister and Karnataka representative in Delhi.
Kumar who admitted that he accompanied DR.V.S.Acharya and A.G.Kodgi recently to the residence of Lokayukta Hegde, but not to talk about CM, because that would lead to more complex problems, he added. But the Lokayukta exposed certain charges against the trio, which could boomerang on him (LA).
However, Dhananjay accused the opposition parties of catching him on wrong foot, though he said he did not exert pressure on Lokayukta to keep CM out of his (LA) final report, due on July 20.
Kumar stated that he had a lot of respect for Lokayukta, and that he was ready to face any enquiry on his real motives vis-à-vis his visit to Lokayukta.
