Mangalore : State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader has said that the state government was implementing several schemes to safeguard health of the public and added Vajpayee Argogya Shree Scheme was one of them.
Speaking to reporters here at IMA Hall on September 13, Friday, he said under the scheme people suffering from critical illnesses like heart problem, cancer, kidney problems can avail free surgery and treatment in super speciality hospitals.
He said the scheme is available for BPL families at present and will be extended even to APL families in the days to come. He said treatment upto Rs 1.50 lakhs is provided free of cost to five members of a BPL family under the scheme.
He said ten private hospitals in Mangalore have registered themselves under the scheme. He said a counter named Arogya Mitra would be opened to provide information to public regarding the scheme. Dr P Boregowda, Dr Ramesh were present.
