Mangalore: A Konkani play “Vallu-Jillu Jindabad” was presented at Kalangann open –air in Shaktinagar on Sunday, Sept.4, by ‘Kalaakul’ artistes’ theatre repertory group. The contents were as modern, as they were qualitative.
The play dealt with present-day politics steeped in shameless corruption. It showed how much politicians were involved in money, women and liquor to gain votes and power.
Such corrupt forces were omnipresent in state activities and the decisions taken by rulers. Finally, people got fed up and revolted against the system that brought only desperation to their doors.
Francis Moras, Melwyn Pais, Roshni Goveas, Michel Crasta and other actors/actress rendered a professional display of talent, maintained the tempo to the end and made a qualitative presentation of roles on the stage.
The Konkani version was made out of a recent Kannada play by Chandrashekar Kambara, by Arun Rodrigues, and directed by a Neenasam graduate(in plays), Christopher D’Souza.
