Udupi: Udupi By polls did not deter a gang of 3 robbers on Sunday, March 4 around 10-30 in the night, to lay hands on a house located behind the Baliga Hospital at Doddanagudde and burgle Valuables worth Rs. 14.50 lakhs and take away an Innova car costing lakhs more.

Three Strangers rang the bell at owner Kanka R. Amin’s house, when the 4 inmates were watching a Tv show and asked for a pointer named Santosh. As they tried to force in the robbers were resisted, but they showed a knife to Kanaka and stabbed her relative Vasudev gagging him on a seat.

They forced Kanaka to open cupboards to snatch 9 gold bangles a gold chain,  2 diamond rings, a pair of diamond ear-rings besides an American diamond ring.

3 watches, 3 mobile phones and cash Rs. 1.75 lakh and a lap-top computer also were robbed a in the bargain.

They made good their escape in Amin’s Innova car parked in the front of the house. How cool!

Kanaka’s 2 children live abroad some relatives (3) stay at the locally.

Manipal police were called in to make a report on robbery. 3 police teams are in speech of culprits.
