Kasargod : A Mangalore merchant Hameed and his family of wife and mother, were poorer on Saturday morning by an amount of Rs.31 lacks in the form of valuables such as gold ornaments and cash, which were stolen by gang of thieves who broke into the 2-story building of Hameed at midnight earlier and decamped with the loot and a bicycle kept in the front yard of the mansion.
Hameed and his family members besides domestic workers were fast asleep when they robbers entered the house from a balcony left open and escaped later with cash and jewellery .
In the morning of Saturday (Nov.23) Hameed’s mother woke up and found something missing with doors open. Immediately she reported the matter to Hameed and his wife, when all hell broke loose due to the loss incurred by the family.
Senior police officials including SP Thomas Jose have visited the spot. Finger print experts and a dog squad were also pressed into service.
