Bantwal : A house was gutted in a fire in Brahmarakootlu on the night of Tuesday, November 12. It has been reported that gold and valuables were among the goods destroyed in the fire. The total loss has been estimated at Rs 15 lakh.

The house belonged to one Hemavathi. The mishap took place when the family was away to attend a function.

The cause of the fire is not known.

Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai, tahsildar Anand Nayak, District BJP President Padmanabha Kottari and other leaders visited the house and assured help to the family.
