Mangaluru: Women of coastal region celebrated ‘Varamahalakshmi’ puja with utter devotion. Most of the temples of Mangaluru were seen fully packed with devotees, on Friday.
This particular puja doesn’t have much importance in coastal belt. But some of the temples will celebrate this as one of the major feasts in the calendar.
Temples like Mangaladevi, Marigudi, Shree Kshetra Kateel, Shree Kalikamba Vinayaka temple and Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara temples were observed busy with the celebrations.
Special rituals were performed especially by women.
This puja is celebrated praising goddess Lakshmi, who is known to be the goddess of wealth. Women celebrate this feast by performing rituals to the goddess Lakshmi.
