Mangalore : Various organization in Mangalore staged rally and protest demanding the implementation of an effective Lokpal Bill and condemning the central government for arresting Anna Hazare.
The Mangalore Bar Association under the leadership of SP Chengappa, president of Association held a silent rally from District Court to DC Office on August 18, Thursday.
Addressing the protestors, he said that the Mangalore Bar Association is first to support, if any problem occurs in the city or country. He also said that even after 65 years of Independence to our country we dint get freedom.
The government involved the various scams like 2G, Common Wealth Games, Denotification and scams have looted the country. The government has rejected the presented lokpal bill by the Lok Sabha for nine times at the parliament with the various reasons without submitting the report.
The association irrespective of any political party, but we are against the public representative who have looted the publics money. Today one cannot get the their work done in the government offices, with out given bribe, he said.
Later, they submitted the memorandum to Prime Minister through DC Dr Chennappa Gowda.
Apart from it, the Jayakarnataka Association of Mangalore also staged protest in front of DC Office today in a bid to extend support to Anna Hazare’s movement.
They burnt the effigy of prime minister on the occasion.
