Mangalore: Various organizations including the leaders of various parties supported the indefinite hunger strike in front of the DC’s office on the 18th day on March 18, Friday.
Addressing the protesters VHP leader and Advocate Jagadish Shenova said that the organization must immediately recruit for all 186 candidates either in ONGC or MRPL.
He also said that they also want a written assurance that the 188 youth who are currently being trained will be given jobs as soon as they finish training.
Muneer Katipalla of DYFI said the victims are demanding a compensation of Rs. 30 lakh each from the companies if they fail to provide the promised jobs. He also said that if the victims do not get the response before March 21, they will hold a violent protest, he added.
Other leaders like PV Mohan, Ivan D’Souza, Yadav Shetty and many others were present.
